WE CREATE ADDED VALUE
DIGITIZATION
Manufacturing requirements are constantly evolving. FLT meets these challenges and brings added value to our customers with smart production systems, computer simulations, modeling and integrated sensors.
MATERIAL FLOW SIMULATION
Our material flow simulations, in the quoting phase, are used to validate system parameters, including throughput, dimensioning, lead times, performance limits, interference factors, and staff requirements.
Existing systems, or initial plans, are mapped which then allows testing of different process optimization strategies, eliminating bottlenecks and seeing automation benefits.
Simulation models, updated through the planning process, can help with decisions, accelerating planning.
VIRTUAL COMMISSIONING
Systems engineering experiences ever increasing requirements, including rapid commissioning, reduced downtime and intelligent functions. Virtual commissioning can play a key role when project time windows don’t allow for normal installation and testing timeframes. Virtual commissioning follows material flow simulation in the design and engineering phase. A computerized model of the system is used to test all programs and system which enables:
- Validating safety measures and processes.
- Testing all programs, systems and assumptions.
- Simulating live running operations.
- Simulating special processes, such as full/empty runs or feed-in/discharge.
This helps us and our customers verify the safety and integrity of new processes, integrations and changes. Simulations can be effective in assessing issues and accelerating design. As well, less time is required in commissioning and production ramp-up.
Virtual commissioning is recommended when a machine features complex processes or requires a shortened time window. It also reduces the amount of test parts needed which can be useful when expensive materials are used.
INTEGRATING SENSORS – INDUSTRIAL INTERNET OF THINGS (IIOT)
Sensors play a key role in Industry 4.0 collecting data used to support processes, enabling intelligent control and networking of production systems.
Integrating sensors into our products and systems allows deviations from the normal state to be detected immediately, helping to eliminate unplanned production downtime. Instead of fixed maintenance intervals, maintenance is done when needed.
FLT integrates sensors into a variety of devices. Examples include the grippers and power supply where sensors collect temperature and power draw alerting maintenance needs before faults arise.
